T-rex Coloring Pages

Action Scenes and Volcanic Backgrounds

The collection features dramatic moments from the Prehistoric era. One sheet shows a fierce Tyrannosaurus smashing through its surroundings, while another places the dinosaur next to an active volcano blowing out dark smoke. These detailed designs are great for older kids and teens who want to shade scale textures and fiery lava.

Coloring Tips for the King of Dinosaurs

You can go with classic green and brown shades, or try bold patterns to make the scales stand out. Colored pencils work well for tiny details like claws, teeth, and smoke clouds. Crayons or washable markers are better for filling in the large body shapes and the broad landscape areas.

• Use dark green or olive for the thick back hide.
• Add yellow or tan on the underbelly for contrast.
• Color the volcano smoke with light gray and black shading.
• Use bright orange and red for the glowing lava flow.

Real T-Rex Facts

Tyrannosaurus rex lived during the Late Cretaceous period, millions of years ago. Scientists know it had an extremely powerful bite, capable of crushing bone. Its large skull and tiny two-clawed arms make it easy to spot in any picture.
