Frequently asked questions

ColoringNinja is a website that uses artificial intelligence to create custom coloring pages for you — on demand, in seconds. You simply describe what you want ("a cute dinosaur in a jungle", "a mandala with flowers", "a princess castle") and our AI generates a unique, black-and-white line drawing ready to print and color. You don't need any drawing skills, any special software, or any art knowledge. If you can type a description, you can create a coloring page.

Creating a free account gives you a starting balance of credits to try the generator right away — no credit card needed. Each time you generate a coloring page, it costs a small number of credits. When you run out, you can buy more credits at a very affordable price on our Pricing page. There are no subscriptions or hidden fees: you pay once and use your credits whenever you like, with no expiry date. Browsing the gallery and downloading existing pages is always free.

It's very simple. First, create a free account (it only takes a moment). Then, go to the home page and type a description of the coloring page you'd like in the text box — for example, "a friendly elephant playing in the water". Click the generate button and wait a few seconds. The AI will create a custom coloring page based on your description. Once it appears, you can download it as a high-quality image and print it straight away. That's it!

The more descriptive you are, the better the result. Instead of just writing "cat", try "a fluffy cat sitting on a windowsill with a flower pot". You can specify the style too: "simple and cute for young children", "detailed and complex for adults", "in the style of a mandala". Think about the subject, the setting, and the mood. Don't worry about being technically precise — natural language works perfectly. If the first result isn't exactly what you imagined, try rephrasing your description slightly and generate again.

Yes! This is one of our most popular features. Go to the Photo to Coloring Page section, upload any photo from your phone or computer, and the AI will transform it into a clean black-and-white line drawing. It works great with photos of pets, family portraits, landscapes, objects, and much more. It's a wonderful way to create a truly personal coloring page — imagine giving a child a coloring page of their own dog or their favourite toy!

Once your coloring page is generated, click on it to open it in full size, then use the print button on the page or simply use your browser's print function (Ctrl+P on Windows, Cmd+P on Mac). The pages are designed to print perfectly on standard A4 or Letter-size paper. For the best results, use a laser printer or a good inkjet printer, and make sure to print in black and white to save ink. The images are high resolution, so they'll look sharp and clear even on large paper.

Every coloring page generated on ColoringNinja is unique. Even if two people type the exact same description, the AI will produce a different image each time. This means your coloring pages are one-of-a-kind — you're not downloading something from a pre-made library. The AI creates each drawing fresh, just for you, at the moment you ask for it.

Absolutely. ColoringNinja was designed with children in mind. The AI generates clean, simple line art that is ideal for colouring in with crayons, felt-tip pens, or pencil colours. For younger children (ages 3–6), we recommend prompts that ask for simple, large shapes: "a big smiling sun", "a simple cartoon fish". For older children, you can request more detailed scenes. Parents can sit with their children to type the descriptions together, which also makes for a fun creative activity in itself.

No problem at all. If the generated image isn't quite what you had in mind, you can simply generate again with the same prompt — you'll get a completely different result — or you can adjust your description to guide the AI in a different direction. You're in full control. You only spend a credit when a generation is completed, so feel free to experiment until you get something you love.

Yes. Every coloring page you generate is automatically saved to your account. You can visit your profile page at any time to see all the pages you've created, download them again, or share them. They'll be there whenever you need them, so you don't have to worry about losing a design you liked.

The images are generated at high resolution and are optimised for printing. They look sharp and clean on standard A4 or Letter paper. For very large formats (A3 or poster size), results may vary depending on the complexity of the image, but for everyday home printing the quality is excellent. The line art style used by our AI is specifically chosen to look good when printed, with clear, bold lines that are easy to colour in.

Not at all — if you can send a text message or search something on Google, you can use ColoringNinja. There are no complicated settings or technical steps. You type what you want, press a button, and get a coloring page. The whole process from typing your idea to holding a printed page in your hands takes just a few minutes. If you ever get stuck, you're welcome to reach out and we'll be happy to help.
